John Partridge was born in 1683 in Medfield, Massachusetts to John Partridge and Elizabeth Rockwood. He died on 06 Sep 1750 in Wrentham, Massachusetts.[1] He married Anna Pond (daughter of Robert Pond and Joanna Lawrence) on 03 Feb 1708/09 in Wrentham.[2] She was born on 02 Oct 1689 in Wrentham.[3] She died on 06 Mar 1756 in Wrentham.[4]

John settled soon after his marriage, in Wrentham, where he afterwards lived. He accumulated considerable property, as is shown by his will, and owned a black slave.[5]

Will[edit | edit source]

John's will mentions children of his deceased daughters Anna Thayer and Esther Thayer; and his children Elizabeth Hayward, John Partridge, Keziah Thayer, and Sarah Adams. He also refers by name to his grandchildren John Partridge, Chloe Thayer, and Anna Rexford, wife of William Rexford.[6]

John Partridge and Anna Pond had the following children:

  1. Anna Partridge was born on 14 Dec 1709 in Medfield, Massachusetts. She married Nathaniel Thayer (son of Isaac Thayer and Mary) on 19 Jan 1730/31 in Mendon, Massachusetts. He was born on 20 Apr 1708 in Mendon.
  2. Elizabeth Partridge was born in Dec 1711 in Suffolk County MA. She married Samuel Hayward on 15 Mar 1733/34 in Bellingham, Massachusetts.
  3. John Partridge was born on 02 Jun 1715 in Wrentham, Massachusetts. He died on 21 Dec 1791. He married (1) Catherine Holbrook on 02 Dec 1774 in Mendon. He married (2) Abigail Thayer (daughter of Samuel Thayer and Mary Sampson) on 18 Nov 1737 in Mendon. She was born on 22 Aug 1718 in Mendon. She died on 11 Mar 1774 in Wrentham.
  4. Esther Partridge was born on 15 Mar 1716/17 in Wrentham.[7] She married Daniel Thayer on 10 Feb 1733/34 in Bellingham.[8] Resided "the Gore" - Oxford, Massachusetts; now Charlton, Massachusetts. Daniel was from Bellingham.
  5. Sarah Partridge was born on 25 Jul 1725 in Wrentham.[9] She died on 27 Apr 1817 in Bellingham.[10] She married Obadiah Adams (son of Obadiah Adams and Christian Sanford) on 25 Dec 1744.[11] He was born on 18 Dec 1721 in Medway, Massachusetts.[12] He died on 02 Jan 1803 in Bellingham.[13] They settled in north Bellingham. He was in Capt. Jesse Holbrook's Co., Col. Ephraim Wheelock's Suffolk Reg., from 8 Dec 1776 to 19 Dec 1776, for a period of 11 days.[14]
  6. Keziah Partridge. Mentioned in father's will. She married Samuel Thayer (son of Isaac Thayer and Mary) on 24 Dec 1739.[15] He was born in 1713 in Mendon.[16] They resided in Mendon.
