Levi Partridge (1739-1813)

Levi Partridge was born to Job Partridge and Anne Cook in Wrentham, Massachusetts, Sep 22, 1739. He married, in 1766, Lydia Miller of Keene, New Hampshire. She was born Oct 25, 1747, and died Nov 28, 1798. He first settled in Dublin, New Hampshire, but removed about 1779 to Keene. Soon after 1800 he located at Stockbridge, Vermont, where he afterwards lived; and where he died Jan 29, 1813.

  2. Lydia Partridge, born Jul 30, 1769; died in 1842. Nothing further known.
  3. Levi Partridge, born Mar 13, 1771; died Mar 18, 1860; settled in Glover, Vermont; had three sons and three daughters, names unknown.
  4. Rhoda Partridge, born Oct 13, 1774; died Jul 6, 1862. Nothing further known.
  5. Anna Partridge, b, Jul 10, 1778; died Nov 30, 1858. Nothing further known.
  6. Martha Partridge, born Aug 17, 1780; died Oct 24, 1862. Nothing further known.
  7. Experience (Pedee) Partridge, born Jul 27, 1782; died Apr 15, 1835. Nothing further known.
  8. Asa Partridge, born Apr 18, 1786; died Oct 26, 1851; married Jun, 1808, in Westmoreland, New Hampshire, Charlotte French, born Milford, New Hampshire, Aug 19, 1786, daughter of David and Lydia (Twitchell) French. She died Jul 5, 1871. They resided in Royalton and Stockbridge, Vermont Children:
    1. Caroline Partridge, 7 born Sep 27, 1811; died May 2, 1860; married Dec 10, 1840, in Stockbridge, Samuel A. Johnson, born Moriah, New York, Jul 18, 1813, died Northfield, Vermont, Jun 3, 1861, son of Moody and Betsey (Abbott) Johnson. They resided in Stockbridge and Northfield, Vermont. Two children.
    2. Hiram Cheney Partridge, born Jul 5, 1814; died Mar 17, 1815.
    3. Almira Partridge, born Mar 20, 1816; died Jul 24, 1872; married in Stockbridge, Vermont, Jan 14, 1834, Warren Hayden, born Stockbridge, Jan 17, 1797, died Nov 24, 1861, son of Uriah and Persis (Goodnow) Hayden. They resided in Stockbridge and Granville, Vermont. One son.
    4. Louisa Partridge, born Jun 22, 1818; died Apr 8, 1893; married May 6, 1839, Jonas Rice, born Granville, Vermont, Nov 19, 1812, died in Rochester, Vermont, Nov 8, 1892, son of Joel and Persis Rice. They resided in Granville, Stockbridge and Rochester, Vermont. Six children.
    5. Asa Cheney Partridge, born Jul 9, 1820; died Nov 2, 1893; married in Wheeling, West Virginia, Oct 17, 1852, Elizabeth Ann Philbrick, born Andover, New Hampshire, Jun 24, 1824, died Jun 8, 1881, daughter of Joseph and Nancy B. (Runnels) Philbrick. They settled in Wheeling, West Virginia, in 1848, removing in 1864 to Boston, Massachusetts. In 1877 they located in Oakland, California, and four years later in San Francisco, California, where they afterwards lived. Nine children.
    6. Hiram French Partridge, born May 14, 1823; died Jun 14, 1894.
    7. Pedee Alvira Partridge, born Jul 14, 1825; married (1) in Sharon, Vermont, Dec 17, 1825, Rev. John C. Baldwin, born Fairlee, Vermont, Dec 28, 1807, died Dec 9, 1865, son of John Baldwin; married (2) Sep, 1875, James A. Severance, born Middlebury, Vermont, Dec 14, 1814, died Aug 24, 1894, son of Moses and Keziah Severance. They resided in East Middlebury, Vermont No children.
    8. Charles Franklin Partridge, born Mar 9, 1828; married Dec 18, 1855, Sarah A. Rice, born Stockbridge, Vermont, Feb 7, 1835, daughter of Luther and Lucy (Rogers) Rice. They resided in East Middlebury, Vermont Five children.
  9. Ziba Partridge, born Jul 28, 1788; married Dec 7, 1812, Mehitabel Gale, born Dec 30, 1789, died Sep 22, 1826. They resided in Glover, Vermont. After death of his wife he removed West, place unknown. No further record. Children :
    1. Merrill Partridge.
    2. Lucius Partridge.
    3. Olin Partridge, born Dec 17, 1816; married Jan 16, 1853, Julia A. B. Shaw, born Sep 25, 1827, in Bradford, Vermont, daughter of Abraham and Mary (Jenkins) Shaw. They resided in Ripon, Wisconsin, where he died Aug 16, 1861. One son.
