Joseph Partridge (1768-1822)

Joseph Partridge was born to Joshua Partridge and Hannah Cutler in Medway, Massachusetts, 26 Apr 1768. He married 1st, 27 Feb 1794, Chloe Puffer, born 22 Dec 1773 in Wrentham, Massachusetts, daughter of William Job and Mary (Wetherell) Puffer of Wrentham. She died 14 Jun 1813, in Medway, where they resided, and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery. He filed his intention to marry 2nd, Sally Hall, in Medway on 22 Apr 1815. He died 26 Oct 1822 in Medway.

John Partridge of Medfield, Mass., and His Descendants

904 George Homer Partridge (GHP) published his first genealogy of the Partridge family in the New England Historical and Genealogical Society Register and titled it John Partridge of Medfield, Mass., and His Descendants. This genealogy was published in the 1903 edition of NEHGS Register (vol. LVII) pages 50-58, 184-192, 281-288, and 389-397. This same genealogy was subsequently published in 1904 by the Press of David Clapp & Son in Boston, Massachusetts in book format, being a reprint in part of the original article. The introduction, the index and the frontispiece are new. GHP subsequently published his  Descendants of William Partridge of Medfield, Mass in 1904. Samuel Partridge (1752-1842)

Samuel Partridge was born to Joshua Partridge and Elizabeth Kingsbury in Medway, Massachusetts, Dec 26, 1752. He married in 1755, Mehetable Allen, born Mar 20, 1753, died Jan 15, 1829, daughter of Elisha and Rebecca (Pratt) Allen. He resided in Medway on the homestead of his father, which, upon his death, he bequeathed to his daughter Mehetabel Daniels. He died Feb 17, 1842. Some excellent portraits in oil of Samuel and Mehetable Partridge were in the possession of Mr. William R. Mann of Sharon, Massachusetts in 1904. Children: Sources

Joshua Partridge (1745-1802)

Joshua Partridge was born to Joshua Partridge and Elizabeth Kingsbury in Medway, Massachusetts, April 20, 1745. He married, Sep 24, 1767, Hannah Cutler, born Sep 18, 1744, daughter of John and Hannah (Plimpton) Cutler of Medfield, Massachusetts. She died Jun 19, 1806, in Medway, where they resided. He died Aug 15, 1802. He was sergeant in Captain Lovell’s Co., Fourth Massachusetts Regiment, in service from Apr 19; 1775, to Dec 8, 1776. Children: Sources

Reuben Partridge (1744-)

Reuben Partridge was born to Samuel Partridge and Mary Blood in Franklin, Massachusetts, Apr 14, 1744. He married there, Apr 7, 1768, Mary Hill. They removed to Keene, New Hampshire, before 1780, and later to Braintree, Vermont, where they thereafter resided. He served in the Revolutionary War from New Hampshire as a private in Ashley’s Regiment of New Hampshire Militia. They had eight children (only six are given below). Children: Sources

Amos Partridge (1742-1821)

Amos Partridge was born to Samuel Partridge and Mary Blood in Franklin, Massachusetts, Jul 25, 1742. He married, Jun 17, 1765, Meletiah Ellis, born Jan 31, 1746, in Wrentham, Massachusetts, daughter of Joseph and Meletiah (Metcalf) Ellis. He was a lieutenant in the Revolutionary army. He settled in Westford, Vermont, after 1788, where he died Aug, 1821. His widow died Mar, 1823. Six of his children were born in Franklin. Children: Sources

Samuel Partridge (1741-1776)

Samuel Partridge was born to Samuel Partridge and Mary Blood in Franklin, Massachusetts, Mar 31, 1741. He married first, Feb 2, 1764, Keziah Hawes, born in Wrentham, Massachusetts, Aug 29, 1735, died May 20, 1771, daughter of Nathaniel and Susanna Hawes. After her death, he appears to have married second, Elizabeth ________ He died Nov 9, 1776, while in the Revolutionary service. On Apr 6, 1778, Amos Partridge and the widow Elizabeth were appointed joint administrators of his estate [1]Suffolk Co. Prob. Rec, vol. lxxii, p. 375. His children, all by his first wife, were born in Wrentham (now Franklin).

Jesse Partridge (1748-1838)

Jesse Partridge was born to Zachariah Partridge and Esther Turner in Walpole, Massachusetts, Feb, 28, 1748. He married Keziah Clapp, born in Walpole, May 12, 1752, died Sept, 1, 1819, daughter of Seth and Mary (Bullard) Clapp. They resided in Walpole for a few years after their marriage, but removed about 1775 to Holden, Massachusetts, where they thereafter resided. He was in the Revolutionary service from that town [1]Massachusetts Archives. He died in Holden, Mar 29, 1838, and his will was proved Jun 20, following. In it he mentions his children, Nancy Hubbard, Lucy Warner, Lewis, Ellis, Jesse and Seth

Zachariah Partridge (1744-)

Zachariah Partridge was born to Zachariah Partridge and Esther Turner in Walpole, Massachusetts, Jan 15, 1744. He settled in Holden, Massachusetts, where he married twice: first, Aug 31, 1772, Mary Houghton of Holden; and second, Aug 4, 1779, Mary Whitney of Holden. No records of the births of any children are found, however, indications are he had four children by his first wife who were baptized at one time in the church at Worthington. He had one son by his second wife. There is a Zacariah Porage living in the town of Stephentown, Rensselaer Co., New York, in 1790. There
