Samuel Partridge (1741-1776)

Samuel Partridge was born to Samuel Partridge and Mary Blood in Franklin, Massachusetts, Mar 31, 1741. He married first, Feb 2, 1764, Keziah Hawes, born in Wrentham, Massachusetts, Aug 29, 1735, died May 20, 1771, daughter of Nathaniel and Susanna Hawes. After her death, he appears to have married second, Elizabeth ________ He died Nov 9, 1776, while in the Revolutionary service. On Apr 6, 1778, Amos Partridge and the widow Elizabeth were appointed joint administrators of his estate [1]Suffolk Co. Prob. Rec, vol. lxxii, p. 375. His children, all by his first wife, were born in Wrentham (now Franklin).

Children:

  1. Phylette Partridge, born Feb 24, 1765; married Jan 22, 1789, in Franklin, Massachusetts, Cyrus Kingsbury of Alstead, New Hampshire.
  2. Sylvester Partridge, born Feb 20, 1766; died Sep 5, 1850; married (1) May 23,1787, Peggy Morse, who died Apr 28, 1790; married (2) Mar 10, 1791, Sarah Collins of Franklin, who died Feb 4, 1813; married (3) Feb 23, 1814, Mrs. Rachel (Brown) Fay, widow of Jesse Fay. She was born in 1767, and died May 29, 1861. He resided at Franklin until about 1793, when he removed to Alstead, New Hampshire, where he afterwards lived. Children:
    1. Theron Partridge, 6 born May 20, 1788; died Feb 6, 1858; married Lydia Rebecca Wentworth, born at Littleton, Massachusetts, Mar 23, 1791, died Jul 20, 1857, at New Alstead, New Hampshire, where they resided. Three sons.
    2. Peggy Partridge, born Apr 27, 1790; died in 1824.
    3. Samuel Partridge, born Dec 19, 1791; died Oct 11, 1858; married in Alstead, New Hampshire, Oct 25, 1812, Abigail Ladd, born Jul 1, 1794, died Oct 8, 1858, daughter of John and Abigail (Ladd) Ladd. They removed from Alstead, in 1817, to Potsdam, New York, where he afterwards lived. Ten children.
    4. Erastus Partridge, born Jul 15, 1794; died Apr 10, 1812.
    5. Sarah Partridge, born Jun 3, 1796; married Richard Beckwith. Eleven children.
    6. Sylvester Partridge, born Feb 7, 1798; died Aug 28, 1847; married May 28, 1827, Judith H. Stow, born Mar 2, 1803, died Jun 29, 1877, daughter of Peter and Deborah Stow, of Newport, New Hampshire They resided in Evans Mills, Denmark, and Potsdam, New York. Seven children.
    7. Lewis Partridge, born Nov 17, 1798.
    8. Lydia Partridge, born Oct 17, 1802; died Apr 10, 1812.
    9. Cyrus Partridge, born Jul 13, 1805; died Apr 8, 1812.
    10. Alfred Partridge, born May 3, 1807; died Apr 10, 1812.
    11. Lurinda Partridge, born Oct 25, 1814; died Nov 14, 1883.
    12. Marinda Partridge, born Oct 26, 1814; died Jan 17, 1889.
    13. Cyrus W. Partridge, born Sep 16, 1817; died May 28, 1881; married in Potsdam, New York, Oct 21, 1851, Elizabeth Mason. They resided in Potsdam. Two children.
    14. Erastus Partridge, born Dec 2, 1820; died Sep 26, 1824.
  3. Keziah Partridge, born Nov 10, 1768; married Jan 27, 1793, Samuel Richardson of Alstead, New Hampshire
  4. Esther Partridge, born May 19, 1776; died in 1826.
