Joel Partridge was born to James Partridge and Keziah Bullard in Medway, Massachusetts, Feb 19, 1748. He resided near Medway Village, on the farm owned by his father. He married Waitstill Morse, born in West Medway, Mar. 6, 1755, died in Medway, Mar. 8, 1825, daughter of Ezekiel and Rebecca (Cozzins) Morse. He died Feb 13, 1823. Their children were born in Medway.

Children, four oldest born in Medway, others in Worcester:
- Untimely Partridge, born Oct 2, 1800; died Oct 3, 1800.
- Elizabeth Partridge, born Oct 8, 1802; died Sep 28, 1887; married Sep 24, 1823, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Nathaniel H. Stowe, born Worcester, Jun 9, 1801, died Dec 16, 1891, son of John and Sarah (Healy) Stowe; settled, soon after marriage, at Ashville, New York, removing from there, in 1836, to Wattsburg, Erie County, Pennsylvania, where they thereafter resided; eight children.
- Elbridge Gerry Partridge, born Oct 21, 1804; resided in Worcester, Massachusetts; several children.
- Almond Partridge, born Feb 20, 1807; died Aug 4, 1838; married May 4, 1830, Mehetabel Lovell, born West Boylston, Massachusetts, May 27, 1813, died Jan 19, 1899, daughter of Jonathan Lovell; removed in 1833 to Jamestown, New York, where they afterwards lived; three children.
- Joel Partridge, born Nov 11, 1808; died May 22, 1896; married (1) in Worcester, Massachusetts, Feb 26, 1831, Azuba Goodell, born Worcester, Aug 25, 1813, died Jamestown, New York, Apr 26, 1841, daughter of Paul and Azuba (Newton) Goodell; married (2) in Jamestown, New York, Dec 31, 1841, Mary R. Pennock, born Stratford, Vermont, Dec 22, 1815, died Jamestown, New York, Dec 2, 1888, daughter of Adonijah and Betsey (Bacon) Pennock; six children by first wife, and six by second wife, all born in Jamestown, New York, where he resided.
- Abigail Harding Partridge, born Dec 27, 1810; died Apr 26, 1898; married Mar. 17, 1831, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Israel Goodell Moore, born Worcester, Jan 2, 1809, died Sep 24, 1894; resided in West Boylston, Massachusetts, until 1837, removing thence to Oak Hill, near Jamestown, New York, where they afterwards lived; three children.
- Albert Adams Partridge, born May 2, 1814; died Apr 18, 1899; married in Worcester, Massachusetts, Apr 17, 1837, Mary Adeline Tafft, born Worcester, Jun 27, 1812, died Feb 25, 1895, dau, of Adolphus and Sarah E. Tafft; resided in Worcester until 1840, removing thence to Jamestown, New York, where they thereafter resided; nine children.
- James Seth Harding Partridge, born Oct 19, 1819; married (1) in Milford, Massachusetts, Maria Antoinette Walker, born Hopkinton, Massachusetts, in 1820, daughter of Leonard Walker; married (2) ; resided at Hopkinton, Massachusetts, until 1879; now living in Jamestown, New York; children.
- Abigail Partridge, born Jan 9, 1777; died in 1860; married Ezra Adams.
