Benjamin Partridge (1739-1776)

Benjamin Partridge was born to Benjamin Partridge and Sarah Allen in Bellingham, Massachusetts, Oct 24, 1739. He married in Bellingham, Oct 21, 1765, Mary Perry, born there Apr 27, 1743, daughter of Oliver and Elizabeth (Smith) Perry. He was in the Revolutionary service [1]Massachusetts Archives, and died at Ticonderoga, New York, Sep 16, 1776. Distribution of his personal property was made among his widow and children, Simeon (eldest son), Jairus, Mary, Sabria and Lois, Sep 5, 1777 [2]Suffolk Co. Prob. Rec, vol. lxxvi, p. 185. His widow married second, Apr 26, 1780, John Coombs, son of John and Mary Coombs of Bellingham. Benjamin resided in Bellingham, where his children were born.

Children:

  1. Simeon Partridge, 5 was living in 1777. No further record.
  2. Jairus Partridge, born Jun 15, 1768; married in Holden, Massachusetts, Apr 7, 1791, Betty Goodale, born there Mar 6, 1772, daughter of Paul and Eunice (Lovell) Goodale. They resided in Winchendon, Massachusetts, for a time, where he died before Jul 1, 1823 [3]Worcester Co. Prob., case 45553. At least one child, perhaps others.:
    1. Naomi Partridge, who was living in Winchendon in 1823.
  3. Mary Partridge, born Apr 10, 1772; died Oct 6, 1795; married Apr 3, 1791, Nathan Penniman, born Bellingham, Nov 28, 1756, son of Daniel and Deborah (Harding) Penniman. They resided in Bellingham. Two children.
  4. Sabria Partridge, born Mar 13, 1775; married (1) Dec 13, 1792, Calvin Holbrook, born Jan 6, 1765, died Aug 8, 1825, son of Ebenezer and Abigail (Adams) Holbrook. They resided in Mendon and Milford, Massachusetts. Ten children. She married (2) Apr 5, 1827, Simeon, born Jun 23, 1760, died in 1848, son of John and Sarah Albee of Milford. They resided in Milford. She died in 1852.
  5. Lois Partridge, born Apr 14, 1777; died Oct 12, 1795.
