Adam Partridge (1778-1855)

Adam Partridge, son of Jabez Partridge and Anna Twitchell, born 11 Mar 1778; died 22 May 1855; married Mary Jackson, born 12 Nov 1781, died 22 Mar 1869, daughter of Oliver and Mary (Pierce) Jackson, of Westminster, Massachusetts; resided in Gardner, Massachusetts where he served as selectmen from 1832-1834.

   3. George H. Partridge, born 6 Aug 1843 at Fitchburg; died 25 Sep 1920 at Ashby, Massachusetts; married Augusta A. Wright, daughter of Timothy Spaulding and Lucy (Sampson) Wright. She was born 30 Oct 1843 in Ashby, died 8 Mar 1920 in Ashby. Both are buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Ashby. Children:
      1. William Henry Partridge, born 24 Oct 1865 at Fitchburg; died 29 May 1949 at Fitchburg; married (1) Mary Jane Dempsey, daughter of James and Mill (Holland) Dempsey, born 14 Sep 1872 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, died 27 Sep 1914 at Ashby. Children:
         1. Irene Davis Partridge, born 23 Apr 1894 at Winchendon; died 22 Jun 1974 at Gardner. Married James Alexander Ryan, son of James J. and Mary J. (Bienvue) Ryan of Fitchburg. Four children: James A., Jane, Joan, and William P. Buried at Saint Bernard’s Cemetery, Fitchburg.
         2. Maxine Ethel Partridge, born 26 Nov 1896 at Winchendon; died 13 Oct 1902 at Winchendon. Buried at Glenwood Cemetery, Ashby.
         3. Earle Everard Partridge, born 7 Jul 1900 at Winchendon; died 7 Sep 1990 at Jupiter, Florida. He married (1) Katherine Louise Holder, daughter of William and Hettie Holder of Dallas, Texas. They divorced and in March 1958 he married (2) Elizabeth Strong “Betsy” Cowles. General Earle Everard “Pat” Partridge, was a man who participated in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War, and who rose from private to four-star general.
      2. Frank Edgar Partridge, born 18 Apr 1875 at Winchendon; died Jan 1952; married Bertha Maud Heald, daughter of Charles and Lucy (Melvin) Heald, born 9 Aug 1876 in Lowell, Massachusetts; died 21 Feb 1907 in Ashby. Both are buried with his parents in Glenwood Cemetery, Ashby.
   4. Charles Edward Partridge, born 13 Oct 1851 at Fitchburg; died 3 Aug 1881 at Fitchburg, aged 29yrs, 10mos.; buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Married 10 Feb 1880, Kate E. Hession, daughter of John and Nettie Hession. She married (2) 31 Oct 1886, Walter Kibling, in Leominster, Massachusetts.
