The 1790 census has Amariah Partridge enumerated as 2-1-3. This would imply that there were possibly more children born than previously known.

The 1800 census has Amariah Pattridge as 1-1-0-1-0 | 0-1-0-1-0 indicating again that there were likely more children.

The 1810 census for Amariah is quite intriguing. Under the name column it has “Pattridge, Amariah + Bishop Agabus” it then provides the enumeration 2-0-0-1-1 | 1-0-1-1-1. There were a family of Bishop’s who resided in Swanzey at the time, but none with the given name of Agabus.

The History of Swanzey, New Hampshire, by Benjamin Read provides a very brief biographical sketch of Amariah on page 417 confirms he and Thankful having only one child.

Child of Amariah Partridge and Thankful Gunn:

  1. Fanny Partridge, born Nov 1, 1787; died Mar 10, 1876; married Dec 11, 1815, Elijah, born Dec 23, 1779, died Oct 24, 1861, son of Greenwood and Susan (Hammond) Carpenter, of Swanzey, New Hampshire; resided in Swanzey. Seven children.
