Stephen Partridge (1746-1818)

Stephen Partridge was born to James Partridge and Keziah Bullard in Medway, Massachusetts, Jul 10, 1746. He married in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, February, 1772, Esther Emerson, born there Jun 14, 1751, daughter of Thomas and Abigail (Marsh) Emerson. They resided in Medway until 1775, when they removed to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, remaining there until 1779, when they migrated to Maine, in the Kennebec river region, a short time later removing to Rochester, Vermont, and from there to Wilmington, Essex County, New York, later going, in 1815, to Ohio, and settling near Columbus. He died in Amity, Ohio, Jun 14, 1818; and she died in Marysville, Ohio, Feb 10, 1835. Two children were born in Medway, two in Shrewsbury, and the others in Rochester, Vermont.

3. Lewis Partridge, born Aug 26, 1776; died Nov 2, 1812; married Phebe Austin; resided in Essex County, New York. Children:
   1. Hiram Partridge, 6 married (1) Louisa Reynolds; married (2) Eliza Hutchinson; ten children, four by first wife.
   2. Phebe Partridge, married Augustus Hudson; six children.
   3. Alvin Partridge, died young.
   4. Philena Partridge, married _______ McLeod; six children.
   5. Lewis Partridge, married Adeline Reynolds; one child.
   6. Enoch Partridge, married Betsey Ray; children.
   7. Asenath Partridge, married David Sanborn; three children.
   8. Stillman Partridge, died young.

5. Stephen Partridge, born May 1, 1781; killed at the battle of Plattsburg, Sep 5, 1814; married Lois Wheeler. Children:
   1. Amanda Partridge, married _______ Searl, of Clintonville, New York; two children.

   4. Martin Partridge.
6. Esther Partridge, born Nov 12, 1782; married Oliver Delano, born May 26, 1781, in Woodstock, Vermont, son of Stephen and Mary (Shaw) Delano; settled in Worthington, 0hio, in 1815, where he died Jan, 1820. Three sons.
7. Eunice Partridge, born May 11, 1785; died May 27, 1807.
8. Reuben Partridge, born Sep 12, 1788; died Nov 9, 1853; married in 1810, Diadama Ray, born Jan 4, 1787, died Oct 17, 1861; resided in Wilmington, New York. Children:
   1. Persis Partridge, 6 born Mar. 31, 1811; Nov 12, 1889; married (1) in 1835, Joseph Shaw of Keene, New York, who died in Rootstown, Ohio, in 1838; married (2) in 1841, Rev. Hiram Miner of Canton, 0hio; married (3) in 1849, Seth Jennings of Freedom, 0hio; seven children, two by first, two by second, and three by third husband.
   2. Eunice Partridge, born Jul 13, 1813; died May 2, 1850; married Nov 20, 1834, John Southmayd; six children.
   3. Stephen Partridge, born Sep 21, 1815; died Oct 4, 1881; married Harriet Knowles; resided in St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters.
   4. Caroline Partridge, born Nov 4, 1817; died Sep 12, 1891; married Sep 12, 1839, Uriah D. Mihills, born Stukely, Quebec, May 7, 1818, died Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Jun 3, 1898, son of Moses and Frances (Moffatt) Mihills; resided in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; ten children.
   5. Prindle Partridge, born Jan 4, 1820; married Sep 17, 1846, Lucinda Bunnell, born Claremont, New Hampshire, Feb 7, 1825, daughter of Seth and Olive (Ashley) Bunnell; resided in Reedsburg and Cazenovia, Wisconsin, and St. Paul, Minnesota; three children.
   6. Ermina Partridge, born Jan 10, 1822; married Jul 17, 1845, Willard Bell, born Apr 3, 1823, died Jan 25, 1887; resided in Keene, New York; five children.
9. Adrial Partridge, born Nov 4, 1790; married Stickney; resided in Salem, New York. Children:
   1. Moors Partridge.
   2. Cyrus Partridge.
   3. Malinda Partridge.
10. Cyrus Partridge, born May 22, 1794; died Oct 22, 1836; married Mrs. Lucinda (Carpenter) Lee, who was born Sep 15, 1794, died Oct 4, 1850: settled in Marysville, Ohio, in 1833. Children:
    1. Worthy Partridge, 6 born Dec 26, 1817; died Nov 15, 1857; married Clementine Lewis; moved to Texas; five children.
    2. Orson Monroe Partridge, born 1820; died Jul 14, 1822.
    3. Reuben L. Partridge, born Sep 10, 1823; died Jul 17, 1900; married Oct 20, 1846, Maria Wolford, born Dec 18, 1825, daughter of Adam and Katharine (Wolford) Wolford, of Marysville, Ohio; resided in Marysville; six children.
    4. John Wesley Partridge, born Oct 3, 1829; died Jul 12, 1867; married Caroline Lewis; went to Texas; several children.
