Edward Partridge (1710-)

Edward Partridge was born to Nathaniel Partridge and Lydia Wight in Medfield, Massachusetts, 14 Sept. 1710. He inherited his father’s homestead, but sold it in 1746 to John and Jonathan Wight and removed to Wrentham, Massachusetts. In 1748 he and his wife asked dismission to the second church in Wrentham. He married, 11 Sept. 1733, Sarah Jones of Medfield. Neither will nor probate record can be found for either Edward or Sarah in CT, MA, NH, NY, or RI.

I can find no evidence of Edward nor Sarah after the birth of their daughter Sarah in 1749/50. Two of their children would marry in Wrentham after 1750, Elisha in 1756 and Silas in 1773 indicating a presence of the family within the town after 1750 is likely.

5. Silas Partridge, born in Medfield 2 Sept. 1744; died 25 Sept. 1819; married in Wrentham, 22 Apr. 1773, Sarah Ray ^[2]GHP errs in the last name for Sarah as Pray. Vital Records of Wrentham, Massachusetts, to the year 1850 lists the surname as Ray, and there were a significant number of Ray’s in Wrentham at the … Continue reading , born 1745, died 30 Nov. 1822, aged 77 yrs. They resided in Oakham. No children.
