Reuben Partridge (1741-1801)

Reuben Partridge was born to Jonathan Partridge and Anne Phipps in Medway, Massachusetts on 21 Nov 1741. He married, 6 Feb 1766, Mary Perry, born in Sherborn, Massachusetts, 2 Apr 1745, daughter of Moses and Deborah (Ivery) Perry. They resided in Sherborn until 1789, when they removed to Gardner, Massachusetts, where they resided thereafter ^[1]Herrick’s Hist, of Gardner. All but the youngest of their children were born in Sherborn. He died 21 Aug 1801, his funeral was on 22 Aug 1801 ^[2]Vital Records of Gardner Massachusetts to 1850, p. 127, and his son John was appointed administrator on his estate, 20 Oct 1801 ^[3]Worcester Co. Prob., Case 45587.

1. Mary Partridge, born 15 May 1767; died 29 Mar 1801; married 15 May 1791, Samuel Hill of Sherborn, Massachusetts; resided in Gardner, Massachusetts. Children as named in History of Gardner: Amos, Moses, John, Nathaniel, and William.
2. Amos Partridge, born 25 Nov 1768; died 9 Sep 1854; removed to Augusta, Maine, about 1801, where he resided; married Hannah Rockwood, born Oxford, Massachusetts, 21 Mar 1770, died 5 Nov 1853, daughter of John and Hannah (Frost) Rockwood. Children:
   1. Anna Partridge, born 31 Oct 1794; died 9 Apr 1799.
   2. Hannah Partridge, born 2 Jan 1798; died 11 Nov 1877.
   3. Amos Coolidge Partridge, born 15 Aug 1799; died 11 Jul 1872.
   4. Reuben Partridge, born 24 Jul 1801; died 6 Sep 1850.
   5. Nathaniel Partridge, born 12 Aug 1803; died 12 Mar 1841.
   6. Joseph Rockwood Partridge, born 19 Jun 1805; died 4 Apr 1892.
   7. L’Orient Partridge, born 9 Aug 1807; died 20 Jul 1809.
   8. Joshua Partridge, born 30 Jul 1809; died 28 Feb 1823.
   9. Anna Partridge, born 30 Jul 1809; died 20 Jan 1833.
3. Anna Partridge, born 23 May 1770; died 21 Sep 1789.
4. Deborah Partridge, born 25 Apr 1773; married Kendall Nichols, son of David and Rebecca (Belknap) Nichols, of Gardner, Massachusetts; resided in Gardner. Children.
5. Elizabeth Partridge, born 8 May 1774; died 22 Sep 1776.
6. Moses Partridge, born 8 Mar 1776; died 28 Jun 1849, in Augusta, Maine, whither he removed about 1801; married Ruth Rockwood, b, Oxford, Massachusetts, Mar 27, 1777, daughter of John and Hannah (Frost) Rockwood. Several children.
7. John Partridge, born 8 Dec 1777; died 15 Jan 1831.
8. Nathaniel Partridge, born 5 Nov 1781; died 14 Nov 1793, his funeral was held 15 Nov 1793 in Gardner. ^[4]Vital Records of Gardner Massachusetts to 1850, p. 127
9. William Partridge, born 14 May 1783; died 2 Jun 1783.
10. William Partridge, born 16 Mar 1788; died 30 Jun 1836.
