Samuel Partridge was born in Medfield, Massachusetts, 22 Feb 1671, to John Partridge and Magdalen Bullard. He drew land in the Black Swamp in 1702 [1]Jameson’s History of Medway, p. 40.. His lot lay along the Charles river in the south part of this tract, which, in 1713, became the town of Medway, Massachusetts, and is now Rockville. He took an active interest in this enterprise and was elected a member of the first board of selectmen. He was also a deacon of the Medway church [2]Jameson’s History of Medway, p. 121.. He married, 5 Jun 1701, Hannah Mason, born in Medfield, 3 Sep 1676, daughter of Robert and Abigail (Eaton) Mason. She died in Medway, 21 Aug 1750; and he died there, 12 Dec 1752. In his will, made 23 Jan 1745, probated 5 Jan 1753 [3]Suffolk Co. Prob. Rec, vol. xlvii., p. 200., he mentions his daughters Hannah Fisher, Mehetabel Grant, Silence Kingsbury and Thankful Partridge; and his sons Samuel, Ebenezer, Joshua and Caleb. The latter was made executor.

- Silence Partridge, born 13 Mar 1709; died 17 Mar 1709.
- Mehetabel Partridge, born 6 Jul 1710; married 15 Apr 1741, Joseph Grant, born Wrentham, 6 Jan 1700, son of Benjamin and Priscilla Grant. She was his second wife. They resided in Wrentham. One or more children.
- Joshua Partridge, born 27 Jul 1713; died 19 Jan 1795.
- Caleb Partridge, born 17 Mar 1717; d, 20 Feb 1755. He married Phebe _______ , who received one-third of his estate. No children. She married (2) 7 Jul 1755, Joseph Ankers of Boston, Massachusetts.
- Silence Partridge, born 5 Mar 1719; married 23 Dec 1742, Stephen Kingsbury, born Wrentham, July 7, 1717, died April 23, 1754, son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Stevens) Kingsbury. They resided in Wrentham. Children. [5]See Kingsbury Gen., incomplete regarding this family.
